The Gokyo Renjo La Pass trek is one newly opened, offering an exciting, fresh option for high-pass trekking through Khumbu. The most desirable time for this unforgettable trek is at the tail end of the monsoon season, when flowers blooming throughout Nagpala give trekkers the illusion of walking across a textured, riotously colorful carpet. The heavenly scent clears the mind wonderfully, and makes for a sweet slumber at night time.
The remoteness of the villages here, the caravan-esque travel of the locals down the mountain to do business at Namche, and the enormous glaciers all offer something unique to the traditional Everest Base Camp trek. Views of the big mountain and of neighboring Cho Oyo are astounding! The Renjo La Pass allows trekkers to cross between Gokyo and Nagpala, providing a gorgeous walk through towering mountains. This is in addition to the more picturesque views already afforded by hiking to Gokyo Ri, as opposed to the traditional day trip to Kala Pattar from Gorakshep. The mountains are, similarly, more spectacular on this itinerary: experience the enormous Ngozumpa Glacier and, from a ridge above Goyko, no less than four 8000-meter peaks! This trek is also less-traveled and, consequently, less crowded than is the classic base camp trek. With our experienced guides by your side, it's guaranteed that you won't miss a single, thrilling surprise of this glorious adventure.
Our company representative will be at the airport to welcome you. From the airport you will be transferred to your hotel. Depending on the flight time you will have meeting with your guide and office representative.

Today you are leaving Namche Bazaar and heading up the Thame Valley taking 4 to 5 hours. The Thame Valley is off route for most trekking groups and you are likely to find the paths relatively quiet. The trail from Namche leads west from the Gumba to around a ridge with the helipad in about 15 minutes and goes through the forest, and within 30 minutes, the descending trail from Syangboche ties in from above. Reach a large Stupa at Furte (3,400m), with tea shops, and two lodges, as well as a government-run tree nursery in 15 more minutes, 1 to 1 ½ hours from Namche. Continue to Samsing with two tea shops and then reach Tseso with an ancient-looking stupa and Lawudo Gomba ascend just out of Tesho, the second one with inviting stone steps, but stay left at the junction if you are on the way to Thamo (3,450m), reached in 20 minutes from Tshko, about an hour from Furte. Leaving Thamo, do not descend to the left of the river but climb past the monastery, at the end of the village. And ascend immediately to the Thame (3,800m) after crossing the bridge at Bhotekoshi about 1 ½ hour from Thamo via Samde (3,610m). The village houses are spread out, and you will camp in one of the fields surrounding the house of a Sherpa friend. In the afternoon you can visit the small Gomba situated on a rocky headland above the village. Overnight stay in trekking lodge.
Overnight Lodge (BLD) Hiking time: 4-5 hours
After the last day of acclimatization, your body recharge for the venture passes to the Renjo La. Today, we are heading north into the remote Nangpa Valley along with the Bhote Koshi River Bank to the Marulung (4,150m), the Tibetan traders coming through the Nangpa La Pass. Until 2005 this valley was off-limits to trekkers because it was the main access route to the pass linking Nepal and Tibet. From the decade, many Tibetan traders have traveled this route, bringing a variety of Chinese goods on the backs of their yaks to sell in Namche Bazaar. The trail upward to the Marulung is about 5 to 6 hours walk from Thame. We are staying overnight at Marulung Village in the lap of Mother Nature
Overnight Lodge (BLD) Hiking time: 5-6 hours
Today is a big day crossing the Renjo La (5,360m) about 7 to 8 hours ascending. You leave your tea house following an early breakfast with some packed lunch, energy bars, and enough drinking water and climb into a wide curie making for the edge line ahead of you. The actual pass is only a small mark. When you come over the past, you are greeted with an unbelievable panorama looking out over the turquoise lakes at Gokyo (4,790m) and across Mt. Everest. You descend over a rough glacial slab and moraine towards your campsite in a secluded location on the western shore of Gokyo. This is the trek of a lifetime and an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful isolated Himalayan scenes. Stay overnight here.

A short stage, but over 5000 metres in altitude, which becomes noticeable when we arrive in Gorak Shep at noon. The day is not yet over. Once again, after a small tea and a rest break, we set off on the seemingly endless path to Everest Base Camp. It is worth it, even if you can "only" see a small peak of Everest. The natural beauty that surrounds us can hardly be described in words. Just enjoy it, even if it might be a little difficult.
Overnight Lodge (BLD) Hiking time approx.: 5 hours plus base camp approx.: 7 hours
On the summit of Kala Pathar you have a fantastic panorama of so many snow-capped mountains. The Khumbu Glacier winds its way through the high mountain landscape deep below. Overnight lodge (BLD) Hiking time approx.: 8 hours
Such an impressive monastery in the Himalayas, Tengbuche, is almost a must. Walking lightly downhill again to lower altitudes, we reach this beautiful place, home to the oldest and most beautiful monastery. And this, in addition, with a gigantically beautiful mountain backdrop. Be sure to check out the Buddhist cost, maybe there is a prayer ceremony (puja) going on, then stick around. Overnight lodge (F/M/A) Hiking time approx.: 7 hours
Overnight lodge (BLD) Hiking time approx.: 7 hours
Once again today it will be quite relaxed as we hike back to the Sherpa trading centre of Nasche Bazar. The place awaits with some amenities after exhausting days. Visit the Sherpa Museum. It is worth it.

Our tour is almost over. But once again we hike through beautiful landscapes, inhabited by warm-hearted people, further downstream via Phakding to Lukla. Once again a somewhat longer day on which it is mostly downhill except for a last small climb shortly before the finish.
