Overview

The Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek is a newly opened route that offers a thrilling alternative to traditional high-pass treks in the Khumbu region. The trek is best experienced at the tail end of the monsoon season, when vibrant flowers bloom across Nagpala, creating the enchanting illusion of walking on a colorful, textured carpet. The air is infused with a heavenly fragrance that refreshes the mind and ensures peaceful, sweet slumber under the stars.

This trek takes you through the serene Gokyo Valley (4,750 m/15,580 ft) and over the stunning Renjo La Pass (5,360 m/17,585 ft), offering panoramic views of Everest (8,848 m/29,031 ft), Cho Oyo (8,188 m/26,864 ft), and other Himalayan giants. Key highlights include the mesmerizing turquoise lakes of Gokyo, culminating at the Gokyo Ri viewpoint (5,357 m/17,575 ft), where you’ll marvel at the vast Ngozumpa Glacier and vistas of four 8000-meter peaks: Everest, Cho Oyo, Lhotse (8,516 m/27,940 ft), and Makalu (8,481 m/27,825 ft).

The remoteness of the villages, the caravan-style trade journeys of locals to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,290 ft), and the immense glaciers provide a unique experience compared to the traditional Everest Base Camp trek. The Renjo La Pass serves as a stunning connection between Gokyo and Nagpala, offering an off-the-beaten-path adventure that is far less crowded than the classic base camp route.

With our experienced guides by your side, you’ll explore every awe-inspiring feature of this incredible journey, ensuring no moment of this unforgettable adventure is missed.
